The strong carbon can take a lot of abuse without affecting the material. It can therefore replace traditional materials such as aluminum, which bend or even break more quickly. With the advantage that carbon fiber is very lightweight, it can improve work or structures in many places.
Carbon can provide support to conventional materials, or it can replace them entirely. The pressure resistance offered by carbon is high and can be further increased by producing a composition with the right fibers.
For example, an aramid fiber has a higher elongation at break than carbon. Should the carbon do break, the aramid fiber ensures that the tread does not detach from the structure.
Carbon profiles, because of their properties, are increasingly being used as unwind tubes, replacing the earlier aluminum tubes. At a fraction of the weight, these carbon profiles are additionally much easier to lift and thus arbor-friendly for the employees who must work with them.
