The large span of these systems made them difficult to handle and required a material that was both lightweight and extremely strong.
Traditional materials such as steel and aluminum are too heavy or less efficient. How could we make the structure lighter, stronger and easier to move, without sacrificing stability? Together we explored how carbon fiber could strengthen the support structure while reducing weight.
A lighter and stronger construction for lighting systems
When developing the support structure for their newest lighting systems, Stogger found that traditional materials such as steel and aluminum were too heavy for the large span and less efficient to use. With carbon fiber, they found the solution that strikes just the right balance between strength and weight.
The result is a custom carbon profile that makes the support structure 45% lighter, 7 times stronger and twice easier to move than traditional materials. This makes the systems not only more durable and maintenance-friendly, but also widely applicable. Meanwhile, this technology is being used more widely and interest is growing rapidly, even among major players in the market. The result? Thanks to the cooperation with PrinceFibre, Stogger’s lighting systems are now lighter, stronger and more efficient than ever, without compromising on stability.
