When you think of pultrusion applications, the more subtle processing of carbon and fibreglass in delicate products such as musical instruments probably does not spring to mind. This is not surprising, since composite is known for its excellent replacement of traditional materials such as steel and aluminium. After all, they are mainly used in major building and construction projects. Carbon nevertheless also lends itself perfectly to refined and elegant items, such as in the processing of the premium acoustic guitars of Furch Guitars. Prince Fibre has been collaborating with Furch Guitars for half a decade to master and predict the colour sound of its premium guitars.

When an acoustic guitar is played, the colour sound of the instrument depends to a large extent on the wood on which the strings are strung. Since wood is a natural, unpredictable product, guitar manufacturers make every effort to make the changeable nature of the sound as consistent and predictable as possible. Furch Guitars uses a CNR system to ensure that the sound of their acoustic guitars is very stable. The CNR system is fixed in the fretboard of the guitar and consists of an adjustable fretboard pin that is placed in a thin-walled Prince Fibre carbon housing. This fretboard pin causes the wood to behave very predictably and any guitarist can achieve enormous precision when playing.

high rigidity

for ultimate precision

In addition to the carbon fibre body, Prince Fibre also plays an important role in a special component of the CNR system, which is a carbon fibre element that makes the heel of the guitar extremely rigid. This allows the amplification block at the front of the guitar’s sound box to be significantly reduced, so that the entire system fits perfectly into the fretboard of the guitar. The exceptional precision and consistency of our carbon products are in perfect keeping with the high standard that Furch Guitars has set for its premium acoustic guitars. We hope to continue with our successful and professional cooperation for many years to come.
