Pultruded profiles, whether made of glass fibre or carbon, are lightweight, strong and dimensionally stable. Crucial properties for battens that have to keep their shape under heavy wind conditions. Due to the high volume of fibres, the battens always retain their straightness. This is in contrast to aluminium tubes, which can bend permanently in strong winds.
Composite battens are also lightweight and therefore positively influence the performance of the boat.

Prince Fibre produces both flat and round slats. Sail slats with a diameter that allows it are also available in rolls of 100 metres.
