The fibres in composites are inherently fire resistant. The resin used to fix the shape of the profile, on the other hand, is flammable. However, it is possible to adjust the composition of the resin so that the profiles become fire-retardant.

FIRE-RETARDANT

COMPOSITE PROFILES

To make the resin in the composite profile fire-retardant, we add powders to the resin. This powder starts to give off moisture at a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius, thereby slowing down the fire.

To ensure that the profile is fire-retardant and that enough powder has been added, a specialist must first subject the profile to fire tests over the entire structure. This is always done by an external party in order to have independent test reports.

Once we have mastered the correct composition of the resin with the powder, we can produce the profile repeatedly for the same application as a customer-specific solution.
